"Hyoshimizu Onsen" uses the "hyoshimizu" spring water, which is one of the seven wonders of Himeshima Village that has been passed on for generations. According to The Chronicles of Japan, a cold spring appeared in "Himekoso", which was the origin of the name Himeshima Village, after the princess clapped her hands to pray for water from the heavens. The spring water is said to be effective for diabetes, hypertension, chronic skin disease, neuralgia, chronic gastrointestinal problems, and others. Visitors can enjoy two kinds of bathing: a cold-spring bath below 25 degrees Celcius and a hot spring bath (around 41 degrees Celcius). The water is a brown salt fountain, and from the bathtub, you can see the blue sea on one side and splendid scenery where you can see Shikoku Island on sunny days."
