Although this area does not have many onsen, the Rokugasako Onsen located here is known as "gastrointestinal water" when you drink it and "beautiful water" when you soak in it. The water is rich in minerals and is well-known to have many beneficial effects. Because it is located on the coast of the southern part of Oita Prefecture, it is a favorite area for seafood lovers to enjoy puffer fish caught in the Bungo Channel (Usuki City), tuna dishes (Tsukumi City), or seafood bowl and Saiki sushi (Saiki City). Usuki's National Treasure, the Usuki Stone Buddhas, is also a popular spot for tourists both from Japan and abroad.
