Address2395 Tashibufuki, Bungotakada City, Oita Prefecture
ContactFuki-ji Temple

The oldest wooden structure existing in all of Kyushu, National Treasure Fuki-ji Temple is one of the nation's three major Amida-do sanctums along with Byodo-in in Uji and Chuson-ji Temple in Hiraizumi.
The statue of Amitabha consecrated here is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
It is also home to a wall painting depicting the Buddhistic celestial realm of "Sukhavati" and "Pure Land."
Along with the greenery in spring and the snowy landscape in winter, the scene of autumn foliage throughout the temple premises between late November and early December is absolutely stunning.
