Kumano Magaibutsu Stone Buddha is situated atop a rugged and steep flight of stone steps in Hirano. One of the largest in the country, the Magaibutsu stone figure is an Important Cultural Property of Japan and is said to have been created sometime in the late Heian period.
Also carved on the boulder beside the monument are a grim looking Dainishi Nyorai to the right and a glossy looking Acala Fodo Myoo to the left.
