One of the best plum viewing destinations in the entire prefecture, plum garden Yoshino Baien features some 450 trees consisted of Bungo plum, Aojiku plum, Shirokaga, and winter plum.
The most notable iconic tree on the premises is called "Garyubai," nicknamed after its appearance resembling a dragon bending downwards.
Spectacular tunnels of plum blossom fill the area with its sweet aroma during flowering season between mid February to early March.
The Garden features a kiosk on site, offering local specialty rice with chicken, udon, soba, and amazake (low to non-alcoholic traditional beverage made from fermented rice).
